Ask Away

Wooden Hill working with Colin Skevington from Moon Watcher Media, and in partnership with Bedfordshire County Council has created Ask Away, a DVD which helps to inform people about how Direct Payments can meet their social care needs.

The film was made with the help of local service users and carers and uses drama to show how ordinary people can be empowered to transform their lives by making informed choices.

The Ask Away DVD was officially launched 27 October 2008 at the University of Bedfordshire Theatre and is part of the campaign to promote direct payments along with information leaflets provided by the Community & Carer Engagement Team

The DVD won the 2008 special entry in the National Association of Social Care Communicators Awards. The awards recognise best practice in communicating information to customers and their carers.
