Hello I’m Gail. I come half a day a week and do typing, filing and anything else which helps things along, from office re-organisation to checking the Website links (but I only wash up my own mug). It is a really friendly place and I like meeting the creative and interesting people who pass through the office. Wooden Hill activities are varied and their training seems to fill a gap - I have never seen such positive workshop feed-back forms and comments. I was brought up in London and often went to the theatre in the cheapest seats - I have been a bit stage struck ever since! Workwise I had an interesting and enjoyable career in many different industries and places mostly in IT. For the last 15 years I was commuting from Bedford to London every day so when I retired in 2007 I was looking for local, fun, non-wage-slave interests - the volunteer centre suggested a few ideas and Wooden Hill seemed to fit the bill. Apart from Wooden Hill, I enjoy having time for family, fitness, reading and music and attend the Retirement Education Centre - this term it's Philosphy. I have also recently become a Trustee for the charity Bedfordshire Advocacy Service for Older People. |
