Hi, I'm John, and I'm one of the directors of Wooden Hill UK. I develop training and performance based work, apply for funding and spend a lot of time slaving over a hot spreadsheet.

I left school with some O Levels and a couple of low grade A Levels, which took a very long time to pass as I was spending all my time with Bedfordshire Youth Theatre.  In the late ā€˜80s I accidentally moved to London where I continued to get involved in theatre until moving into TV in the early ā€˜90s working behind the scenes on The Bill, Peak Practice and other dramas.

I moved back to Bedfordshire in the late ā€˜90s and fell into administration in Social Services.  I worked for Child Care, 65+ and Mental Health Teams, then went to work in a family centre, starting out as a befriender and family support worker before getting involved in project development.

Finally did a stint with the Youth Offending Team providing  one to one support and group work and in 2004, started Wooden Hill pulling together all the skills and experience I’d picked up over the years.  You can contact me for more information on what we do, how much it costs, to discuss new project ideas, look at joint funding bids or swap Quorn recipes at john@woodenhilluk.co.uk
