Wooden Hill has undertaken a variety of consultations with children living in care and care leavers, often peer-led. These have included consultations about participation services, health and the local pledges to them from social services.

Although commissioned by a variety of customers, the results of these consultations has always helped to inform the work of Wooden Hill as well. The health consultation was especially interesting as it high-lighted how strong the influence of the media is on people’s perception of body image – something we are now keen to develop group work around.

The consultation on the social services’ pledges formed the basis for a theatrical performance, which has received very high praise and which we are aiming to revive.

These consultations have also helped to create projects such as Unbeatable and to develop new exercises to deliver in training.
