Q: What is the YIPPEE Kite Mark?
A: An exciting and new project that puts young people and children at the heart of recruitment. The YIPPEE Kite Mark has been developed by the Youth Involvement Participation Partnership East of England (YIPPEE) and young people to support organisations and groups to actively and meaningfully involve young people and children in recruitment of staff and volunteers.
We at The Hill have been pulling all the strands together and we now have a set of self assessment standards and supporting toolkits and websites to really help organisations develop good working practice around recruitment, and anyone within the organisation can do the assessment from young people to staff, volunteers and trustees all will be able to take part.

The best bit is, if you as an organisation don’t have access to young people to help in the recruitment process, a virtual bureau of  trained and experienced young people is being developed to sit alongside the YIPPEE Kite Mark.
We are very excited about this work, as to have something consistent and easy to use across the whole of the Eastern Region is a big challenge but one that we can achieve if people promote it among young people, staff and agencies.
